Corpus Christi City Council members bid farewell Tuesday to Kevin Kieschnick, thanking him for his service in District 1.

Mayor Joe Adame gave Kieschnick a commemorative clock. It's something to help Kieschnick remember when it's time to tell citizens their taxes are due, Adame said.
"Yes, you'll have until 5 p.m. today," Kieschnick quipped.
Tuesday was the last day to pay property taxes.
"I really enjoyed it and thanks for each and every one of you for your expertise," he said. I'm going to miss you."
Kieschnick gave up his seat last month upon being appointed the Nueces County Tax Assessor-Collector. He served a term and a half, or two and a half years, representing neighborhoods in Calallen, along I-37 and the Northside.
